Please help!24 April 2016 at 16:14 #11288
I’m having the exact problem, and as my site’s a stock image site it’s a big problem!24 April 2016 at 17:25 #11289
The same problem here. Please find the solution, asap :)25 April 2016 at 12:30 #11313
Any updates on this? Is there a way to revert to the previous version?26 April 2016 at 20:12 #11343
Guys, can you provide more feedback on this. You should have better results now, because we’ve implemented ImageMagic library support (if you have that in your server).
We’ve run our set of tests and didn’t notice that issue.
Is this a consistent behaviour? Does this happen to all image types – png (8 bit, 24 bit), jpg, Are there any scenarios it does not happen?27 April 2016 at 21:45 #11350
Yeah this happens on every upload I’ve not managed to make it not happen27 April 2016 at 23:08 #11353
Same, this is happening on all of my images (I upload jpgs mostly)27 April 2016 at 23:35 #11354
Is there a way to revert to the older version of the plugin until you can fix this bug?http://nickydigital.com/2016/04/girls-boys-presents-dyro-aryay-april-22-2016/20160422_tr_d7c0200/#.VyEwmzArLZs28 April 2016 at 10:47 #11355
I rolled back to an older version that worked but it automatically updated to the new version, do you know how to take off the automatic update? Nice site by the way mines 123stock.co.uk, you can see why watermark’s so important28 April 2016 at 19:56 #11366
How can I roll it back to a previous version?29 April 2016 at 16:35 #11373
This plugin stops updates https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-wordpress-updates/
And here’s all the older versions of the watermark, mines now perfect again.
I rolled back to 1.5

Any updates on this? I haven’t been able to revert back to 1.5. Do I need to delete the current version and install the 1.5 fresh?
Thanks in advance,

UPDATE: I deleted the original installation and re-installed the old version and it’s working now.
Thank you everyone.4 May 2016 at 22:37 #11404
Hi, I’ve just updated the plugin and the problem still exists. Transparent watermarks are no longer transparent since the previous version.
Here are the setting I’m using, may be it will help to replicate the problem:
– Enabled Apply Watermark option for images in Media Library.
– on selected post types only\
– alignment: center
– Watermark size: scaled
– Watermark transparency / opacity: 100
I hope it helps12 May 2016 at 21:48 #11532
This is still not working for me either. Can we please get an update?14 June 2016 at 02:53 #11801
Can we get an update on this? It’s still not working!14 June 2016 at 23:58 #11830
After the issue occured (in a release that introduced another, better image processing library) we’ve released another IW version that allows you to choose which method to use – GD or ImageMagic.
ImageMagic is used by default now, but you should be able to switch back to GD library in plugin settings. This should fix the issue.7 September 2016 at 23:50 #12738
What is the difference between these processing libraries? If ImageMagic is the better one, is there a way to have it support the transparencies?7 September 2016 at 23:56 #12739
The latest version doesn’t appear to be applying the watermarks at all…26 September 2016 at 14:25 #13093
Both libraries have support for transpaarency, Image Magic is a newer one, more powerful, but I doubt you will notice a difference on typical usage.
When it comes to watermark transparency – I suggest you play with the image type used for the watermark – 24 bit png especially.14 November 2016 at 12:48 #13926
I have this issue today. Tried ImageMagic and GD, and on both, instead of transparency I got Black background.
Will have try if changing PNG bit’s help.14 November 2016 at 13:10 #13927
Do some tests, and issue not relate to ImageMagic or GD but to watermark transparency and format type.
I moved Transparency of the watermark from 100 to roughly 50% and change image format from baseline to progressive and on the end watermark start become transparent.
With 100% transparency and progressive, the output is on black background.
Goes to 95% and progressive and archived effect that I have been looking for.
Looks like there is problem with 100% Transparency when Watermark got already transparency in.19 January 2017 at 20:59 #15072
I think I have the same problem as all the other posts seem to explain, I use Easy Digital Downloads and the images show the watermark, however when I click through the bigger image all of a sudden no watermark is shown. I have deleted the latest plug in and used an older version to no avail. I have rolled back the website still to no avail so any other suggestions would be welcome. Thanks peter22 May 2017 at 23:58 #18008
I had the same issue and the way I fixed it was by changing the format of the images I was uploading. I changed to JPG and the watermark became transparent again.
It seems that the library has some type of conflict with a specific type of PNG file. I still have not figured out what PNG specifications triggers the error but for now, JPG seems to work every time for me.
Convert the images that you can to JPG and then re-upload them and the watermark should be fine.
