Hi,
I’m using the Pro Extension PhotoSwipe in FolderGallery galleries.
But i noticed that on each call of the page, where I use the lightbox, all the images are preloaded full size instantly. This is very bad because I don’t want anyone to load all images in my gallery.
Instead, load them full size on demand when I click the thumbnail and when the lightbox opens. How do I disable preloading all images?
Using other ResponsiveLightbox scripts don’t show this behavior.
I can provide access on demand.
Any ideas would help
Cheers Ben

Can we have a look at that on your site?
Somewhere where you use both – Photoswipe and Folder Gallery.10 April 2017 at 15:12 #17066Benjamin WagnerParticipantHi,
sry for not giving you the website before….. :-)
http://www.Knippsbox.de
Login: dFactoryI noticed, that there is a setting called “enable loading image preploader”. Can you explain what this setting is about? Whether it is checked or not I don’t see any changes.
Thanks, Ben

Did you have a chance to see what is going on there? I do have galleries of more than 300 images to show. So, please check why all images are preloading. From my own investigation I noticed that images are being preloaded to gather information on their dimensions which are then stored in an array. That is certainly something that does not need to be done in advance. Or, at least not of the cost of loading all images.
Because of this I guess you try to make use of the setting “enable loading image preloader”. But as I said this is not working.
Please work on a bugfix for that.Let me know if I can help you to settle this.

We’re checking this issue on another user development website.
But will inform you as well on any findings.4 May 2017 at 17:14 #17432BartoszKeymasterHi Benjamin,
We’ve faound a solution and updated the code snippet here: https://dfactory.co/support/topic/responsive-lightbox-works-but-not-more-with-photoswipe-add-on/
Please make an adjustment as as suggested and it should be fine.4 May 2017 at 22:32 #17440Benjamin WagnerParticipantHi Bartosz,
thanks for the heads up. First modification shows positive results.Still, can you please answer what the setting “enable loading image preloader” is used for?
I noticed that if you open one image in the PhotoSwipe the next and the previous images is loaded too. This of course makes swipe gesture more seemless. But is there a setting to disablethat feature?
Thanks

15 February 2018 at 11:43 #23423Andreas HaasParticipantHello,
I have exactly the same problem as described by Benjamin, but I do not use the Folder Gallery plugin – I use the standard WordPress 4.9.4 Gallery function.
Same behaviour: When I open a site with ~300 images, the plugin loads all the full size images in the background, which takes quite a while. With the free “FancyBox”, only the thumbnails are preloaded, which would be way better!
Can you check that please? I use the Version 1.1.0 of PhotoSwipe.
Thank you!
Best regard,
Andreas -
